Drawing this card was a great process because I had a good connection to the expectant mother. She knew what she wanted and has a strong connection to nature. She wanted a wild horse and specific flowers that were related to the child’s name; Fenna. 

For the flowers I looked for inspiration in old illustrated botany books, which I still have from my family. It was also a pleasure to draw horses again, since I hadn’t done it in a long time, but when I was a little girl, I didn’t draw much else :)
